Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Ryder's younger sibling is Uria. Ryder relocated with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There they didn't have electricity. Television books were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. Ryder began taking classes in acting at American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. At the age of fifteen, she landed her very first role on the screen in Lucas. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour could be reduced. But it wasn't to come to be. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. In 1988, in the year Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder continued to play successful roles in many movies. In 1993, she received an Oscar Prize for The Age of Innocence.
