Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived to a musical family 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the daughter and cousin of the singer Dionne. The singer began her singing career in a choir at her church The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark as a young child and at 15, she had begun singing backing vocals professionally alongside the mother of her on Chaka Khan's 1978 smash Im Every Woman. In the following years, she was a backing vocals to Jermaine Jackson and Lou Rawls and her mother. The singer was first a featured vocalist for the New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her quality of vocal work attracted attention from big record labels like Arista where she signed up in 1983. Whitney Houston, her debut album, released in 1985 was the highest-selling album for a debut singer. The album All My Love was released in 1985 and was a top one smash. The album sold three million copies in its debut album's first year of release in the US and then went on to make 25 million copies worldwide, earning her the first of her six Grammys. Its Whitney 1987 album, which included the songs Where Do Broken Hearts and I Wanna Dance With Somebody as popular songs, was a way to build on her success. However, the 1992 movie The Bodyguard sealed her spot among the top-selling musicians of all-time. The film and her part in it were not very well received, but the music and her interpretation of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You charted for several months on the charts and she sold more than 44 million albums and singles across the globe. The same year, she was married to Bobby Brown who was a former New Edition singer. She was the sole daughter of Bobby and Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married on March 23, 1993. Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she has a job at CNN as a reporter, anchorwoman and political reporter. Her prior work has included NBC, CBS and other prestigious channels.
